Wire-o-bound Books (or wire bound)
Wire-o-binding gives a very professional finish that provides a permanent and secure document especially when laid flat. It is also know as ring binding, twin loop wire, double loop wire and double-O wire. The thicker the book, the larger the gauge of wire that must be used to enable un-hindered page turning.
- A wire-o-bound book will lay perfectly flat. Ideal for cook books, high quality manuals or reference books.
- The pages can be folded back on themselves, perfect for a guide book.
- Good for calendars and journals which need to keep perfectly flat pages.
- Half Canadian binding: A spine and extra cover can be created on a wire-o-bound book by wrapping a cover around the book, with the wire still being visible on the back cover.
- Full Canadian binding: A spine and extra cover can be created on a wire-o-bound book by wrapping a cover around the book. The wire is completely concealed within the cover. Full Canadian binding can be soft back or hard back.
- Spiral binding is a less common variation of wire-o-binding using a plastic spiral. The cut out holes are normally circular, whereas wire-o-binding holes are usually square.
